Helping Hands Planting
Enhancing and Connecting Habitat at Berrima
When: Tuesday, 15th Sep, 9 am to 12 pm
One of the joys of volunteering at planting mornings is that you get to spend a few hours enjoying a beautiful property while actively helping to create habitat for our precious wildlife. This planting day is on a gorgeous property that is close to both Mittagong and Berrima, easily accessed on asphalt roads with a flat planting site.
The custodians of this Land for Wildlife property have been actively enhancing its natural areas through a series of plantings to create habitat corridors. They are now moving into the next stage of planting which involves creating denser understory plantings to allow smaller birds and native animals protection and habitat. This planting will link in with road side vegetation and on farm corridors.
- Morning tea will be provided at the end of the morning. Please bring your own mug and a full water bottle.
- Tools will also be provided but you are welcome to bring your favourite planting tool if you want to.
- Holes will be pre-drilled with an augur.
Please wear covered sturdy shoes suitable for uneven terrain and clothing suitable for gardening and gloves.
Car parking and toilet on site. Landcare signs will be on the corner of Compton Park Rd and at the farm gate.
